Supervising Inspector, Electrical - Remote

Overview

This position involves supervisory work in the inspection of electrical installations, ensuring compliance with NYC Construction Codes and other relevant laws.

In Short

• Supervises inspectorial staff and coordinates workflow.
• Conducts field inspections and enforces relevant laws.
• Monitors and approves inspectors’ routes and records.
• Investigates accidents and incidents.
• Maintains records and prepares reports.
• Trains subordinates in their duties.
• Represents the Department at meetings.
• May operate a motor vehicle for inspections.
• Eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week.
• Requires civil service status for application.

Requirements

• Six years of experience as an electrician, designer, or inspector.
• Four years of experience plus relevant education or training.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program.
• License as a professional engineer or registered architect.
• Equivalent education or experience may be considered.
• One year of supervisory experience required for Level II placement.
