Overview

The NYC Department of Buildings is responsible for ensuring the safe and lawful use of buildings and properties by enforcing the NYC Construction Codes, Energy Code and Zoning Resolution. In Short

• Work on mechanical code-related issues.
• Research and review mechanical appliances and materials.
• Prepare technical reports and code interpretations.
• Review requests related to ASHRAE standards.
• Attend meetings with industry stakeholders.
• Respond to inquiries from engineers and architects.
• Lead meetings to provide technical assistance.
• Plan and review projects assigned to other engineers.
• Eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week.
• Requires a valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer.

Requirements

• Six years of full-time satisfactory experience in engineering.
• At least two years in an executive, managerial, or administrative capacity.
• Valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer.
