Community Affairs Associate - Remote

Overview

The Community Affairs Associate will support the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection by developing relationships with community stakeholders and conducting outreach to enhance public engagement and promote agency initiatives.

• Develop and maintain relationships with elected officials and community stakeholders.
• Conduct outreach to underserved communities both in-person and virtually.
• Represent the agency's work and policies effectively.
• Coordinate logistics for events, including materials and staffing.
• Link with other divisions to ensure project success.
• Provide administrative support for special projects.
• Work under the supervision of the Director of Community Affairs.
• Engage in public relations and digital communications.
• Assist with legislative policy coordination.
• Respond to constituent inquiries or complaints.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree and two years of community work experience, or
• High school diploma and six years of community work experience, or
• Equivalent education and experience.
• At least one year of relevant experience is required.
