Agency Attorney L2 - Remote

Overview

The Agency Attorney L2 position involves litigating cases on behalf of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) to enforce housing standards and ensure compliance with legal regulations.

• Serve as a Staff Attorney litigating cases for HPD.
• Negotiate complex legal matters on behalf of the agency.
• Research and prepare legal documents for court.
• Conduct trials and prepare witnesses.
• Advise on legal aspects of housing enforcement.
• Must be a member of the New York State Bar.
• Knowledge of NYC Housing Maintenance Code and NYS Multiple Dwelling Law required.
• Excellent communication skills needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• One year of legal experience or six months as an Agency Attorney Intern.
• Must remain a member of the New York State Bar in good standing.
• Experience in areas of law related to housing enforcement.
