Software Engineer, Referrals - Remote

Overview

Chime Engineering is growing rapidly as we scale to support the financial needs of our members. We are looking for driven product-minded engineers to join the team, where you’ll get the opportunity to partner with cross functional teams to build new product features to better serve our members. You will own projects from end-to-end by influencing architecture, implementing APIs and maintaining the ongoing health of the code.

In Short

• Design, develop, test, refactor and scale backend implementations of new and existing consumer product features
• Work with the mobile engineers to design and build strong, resilient APIs that power the member facing mobile app
• Embrace an experimentation-driven and growth mindset to rapidly test hypotheses, validate insights, and scale successful experiments for maximum impact
• Own end-to-end delivery of new product features, including planning and stakeholder communication
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand member pain points and come up with solutions
• Proactively identify opportunities for improving the reliability and scalability of our systems
• Work across the engineering team to improve and uphold high technical standards

Requirements

• 3+ years developing software in a production environment at scale
• Proven experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks
• Experience working with transactional databases and caching systems
• Exposure to architectural patterns of large, high-scale web applications
• Experience leading execution of fullstack projects involving multiple engineers
• An appreciation of maintainable well-tested code, and shipping polished user experiences
• Growth Engineering experience and fullstack experience an added plus
