Tax Lead - Remote

Overview

The Tax Lead will be the go-to tax expert at Central, responsible for managing federal and state tax processes, collaborating with clients, and improving tax workflows.

• Be the go-to tax expert at Central, reviewing and improving work from offshore providers.
• Own federal and state tax processes from client intake to filing.
• Collaborate with clients to solve complex tax challenges.
• Work with the Head of Accounting to integrate tax work into client workflows.
• Partner with engineering to automate tax processes.
• Contribute to a pod-based service model for cross-functional teamwork.
• Stay updated on compliance and process innovation.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of tax experience, preferably at a Big 4 firm.
• Deep understanding of federal and multi-state corporate tax.
• Strong accounting foundation.
• Experience managing junior preparers or automation tools.
• Comfort with technology and process improvements.
• Excellent communication skills.
• CPA or EA required.
