Overview

The Senior Advocacy Adviser for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) will work under the supervision of the Associate Director of Advocacy and External Relations for Latin America and the Caribbean in close collaboration with other program staff to support and build the work of the program.

In Short

  • Work on advocacy strategies to support reproductive rights in LAC.
  • Collaborate with various teams to implement advocacy and legal strategies.
  • Engage with human rights mechanisms at national and international levels.
  • Support local partners in advocacy campaigns.
  • Represent the Center at public events and media inquiries.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the Program Annual Workplan.
  • Supervise staff and interns as needed.
  • Prepare background materials for key events.
  • Participate in institutional content creation and communication campaigns.
  • Foster relationships with human rights experts and organizations.

Requirements

  • Professional in Law, International Relations, or similar field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Human Rights or advocacy.
  • Knowledge of international human rights systems and gender equality.
  • Experience in high-level advocacy and external relations.
  • Fluency in Spanish and strong English skills required.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and under pressure.
