FHA MI Claims Specialist I - Remote

Overview

The Default FHA MI Claims Specialist I will, under moderate supervision, be responsible for preparing, filing, and following up on FHA claims timely and accurately according to insurer/investor guidelines.

In Short

• Prepare and file claims for one primary loan type timely and accurately.
• Document system(s) with appropriate tasking and comments.
• Ensure required documentation is included in the Claim File.
• Submit claim for quality review; complete corrections timely.
• Finalize and submit claim to agency for payment.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Moderate knowledge of default claims processes.
• Understanding of default servicing processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Requirements

• High School diploma required; some college preferred.
• One (1) or more years’ mortgage servicing default experience preferred.
