Overview

The Field Service Specialist at ZEISS plays a vital role in installing, repairing, and maintaining Carl Zeiss instrumentation in the field, ensuring customer satisfaction and effective territory management.

In Short

• Install, repair, and maintain Carl Zeiss instrumentation.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Provide high-level customer service and communication.
• Prepare and submit field service and expense reports.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and service tool calibration.
• Travel extensively within Canada and internationally.
• Assist in training and mentoring new hires.
• Develop strong relationships with key customers.
• Diagnose and repair products within assigned territory.
• Understand and apply troubleshooting techniques.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of field service experience.
• BS in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, or related fields preferred.
• Theoretical understanding of electromechanical, electronic, and optical systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills and ability to obtain specific certifications.
• Self-directed and able to work independently.
• Experience with Carl Zeiss Meditec product lines.
• Thorough understanding of schematics and technical data.
• Basic understanding of ophthalmic anatomy and diseases.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
