Overview

The Patient & Equipment Transporter is responsible for transporting patients throughout the hospital and assisting nursing staff with patient transfers, ensuring comfort and safety during the transport process.

• Transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds.
• Verify patient identification before transport.
• Assist nursing staff with moving and positioning patients.
• Deliver medical specimens and materials to various departments.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of transport equipment.
• Provide appropriate handoff communication to receiving units.
• Work collaboratively with hospital departments to ensure patient care.
• Complete job activity logs as required.
• Participate in deep-cleaning of transport equipment.
• Adhere to infection control guidelines during transport.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Good interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
• Preferred: Six months’ experience in a hospital environment.
