Overview

The Financial Clearance Specialist is responsible for assessing and verifying patient information for scheduled medical services, collecting payments, and ensuring financial responsibilities are addressed before services are rendered.

• Responsible for verifying patient demographic, financial, and insurance information.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D., business concentration preferred.
• Four or more years of experience in a business office setting, preferably in healthcare.
• Prior experience in a healthcare environment is required.
• Knowledge of personal computers and business office applications is preferred.
• Familiarity with hospital computer systems and third-party collections is a plus.
• Ability to assess patient coverage gaps and financial exposure.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
• Experience in collections and reimbursement preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
