Cloud Operations Manager - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a strong leader in Ireland to drive cloud infrastructure implementations, oversee continuous cloud service operations, serve as the primary contact for production issue escalations and resolutions, and ensure adherence to security and compliance standards.

In Short

• Build and expand the Cloud Operations team at Extreme’s Ireland office.
• Lead cloud infrastructure implementation and optimization across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Manage and optimize middleware services including PostgreSQL, Ignite, Redis, and more.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for production issues during EU daytime hours.
• Resolve customer-reported issues in collaboration with Support, Development, and QA teams.
• Provide technical leadership on cloud infrastructure design and operational improvements.
• Ensure production operations meet security and compliance standards.
• Review new service designs to ensure security and compliance before production rollout.
• Work with remote teams to deliver continuous 24x7 cloud service operations.
• Analyze service performance and execute improvement plans.

Requirements

• BS level technical degree required; Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in a CloudOps / DevOps role and 5+ years in a manager role.
• Experience architecting infrastructure for highly available cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or any public cloud.
• Knowledge of Linux, security, and networking fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of container-based architecture and deployment.
• Experience in diagnosing and resolving complex application problems.
• Working knowledge of monitoring tools.
• Experience with cloud security and compliance implementation.
• Comfortable working within a distributed team located in multiple time zones.
