Database Administrator II - Remote

Overview

Bullhorn is looking for a problem-solving database-focused technologist to become our next Database Administrator II, responsible for managing a large distributed database environment for a global customer base.

In Short

• Manage a large distributed database environment utilizing MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Ensure 24/7 availability and security of the production application environment.
• Install, design, and maintain database system software.
• Provide support at all stages of database implementation.
• Run diagnostic tools to identify database performance bottlenecks.
• Troubleshoot performance and non-performance related issues.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize queries.
• Document database policies, procedures, and standards.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.
• Experience in a cloud environment like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• 2-5 years MSSQL Server experience.
• 1+ years of MySQL, PostgreSQL & MongoDB experience.
• 1+ years DB support role in a 24x7 production environment.
• General SQL Query Tuning and database performance optimization experience.
• DB Patching and Upgrade skills in the production environment.
• SQL Server High Availability and clustering experience.
• Experience maintaining a high-volume, mission-critical application in a SaaS environment (bonus).
• Experience with Windows Server administration (bonus).
• Experience with PowerShell and/or Python scripting (bonus).
