Prepare and review ceded and assumed reinsurance journal entries, ensuring proper recording and classification.
Perform monthly reconciliations and analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
Manage reinsurance billing processes, ensuring accurate invoicing and timely collections.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and broker partners as necessary to resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist in the preparation of Annual and Quarterly NAIC statements, ensuring accurate reporting that is in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Assess and track collateral requirements for ceded and assumed reinsurance agreements, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
Maintain regular communication with broker partners to facilitate smooth transactions, resolve queries, and ensure the timely flow of information.
Provide support for general accounting tasks and assist in statutory reporting functions as needed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and 3 years of relevant reinsurance accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with reinsurance accounting systems.
Strong understanding of reinsurance principles, accounting practices, and statutory reporting requirements.
Analytical mindset with a problem-solving approach.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
