Accounting Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Accounting Specialist will play a pivotal role in the Accounting Function, contributing to the development and maintenance of accounting policies, controls, and systems. This position requires a candidate with a solid theoretical knowledge base, specific functional expertise, and the ability to provide guidance using technical expertise.

In Short

• Assist in managing the development, implementation, and adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
• Drive the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting systems.
• Prepare federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
• Lead the maintenance and tracking of billing details within financial systems.
• Provide audit support as needed.
• Interpret records and reports for managers and stakeholders.
• Oversee compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations.
• Manage project expenditures and revenues.
• Build and maintain relationships with finance and non-finance teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or relevant discipline required.
• 1 - 2 years of experience in accounting or audit required.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (a plus).
• CPA certification (a plus).
• Ability to provide guidance to others as a project manager or lead.
