Principal Software Development Engineer - Full Stack (Java, React) - Remote

Overview

Sagent is seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead the development team for our Data product(s) while advancing our culture and practices. The team is building our next-generation servicing system and default products, which will be used by lenders and servicers in the consumer and mortgage lending markets in the United States.

In Short

• Lead a global cross-functional engineering team to deliver scalable SaaS solutions.
• Own technical design decisions and guide Development teams through AGILE SDLC.
• Oversee architectural design, coding standards, and DevOps integration.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and Business stakeholders.
• Ensure platform security, compliance, scalability, and performance.
• Drive modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster a high-performance culture.
• Experience leading API Governance initiatives.
• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, git, and shell scripting.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years in technical leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture and SaaS platforms.
• Strong experience in the mortgage or financial services domain.
• Proficiency in Java, Node.js, React, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with API development and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards relevant to fintech.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
