Software Quality Assurance Manager - Remote

Overview

Trust is good. QA is better – especially when it comes to user-friendly, reliable, and legally compliant software. Therefore, we are looking for you as a new member in the quality assurance department! As a QA Manager, you will work closely with product/project management, development, and design in an interdisciplinary team to implement diverse customer projects. At the same time, you will be connected with your three QA colleagues as a specialist team – for exchange, strategy, standards, and mutual support. You will accompany the entire software development process from the conception phase to the release and ensure that QA not only plays the role of the final approver but also thinks along, steers, and contributes from the very beginning.

In Short

• Actively shape processes in the development environment with your agile mindset.
• Plan and manage all QA activities in your team – from feature testing to complete acceptance tests.
• Conduct manual tests on real devices and create test plans, cases, and documentation for web and mobile applications.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to develop appropriate test scopes – from timeboxed smoke tests to regression tests.
• Document and track bugs in Jira and TestRail, ensuring our tests and results meet regulatory requirements.
• Contribute your insights and experiences to the QA team for the development of quality standards, strategies, and best practices.
• Advocate for professional testing processes and explain their value clearly to developers and departments.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in quality assurance in the software industry.
• Experience in independently managing and optimizing QA processes throughout the agile software lifecycle.
• Proficient in manual testing of web and mobile applications; experience with automated testing is a plus but not a requirement.
• Understanding of agile working methods (Scrum, Kanban) and knowledge of relevant test management tools like TestRail and Jira.
• Experience in the regulated field of medical products (ISO 13485) is a plus but not a must.
• A degree in a relevant field can be advantageous – however, your experience and passion for quality assurance and software testing are what matter most to us.
• Structured thinking, combined with a pragmatic approach and the ability to switch flexibly between various topics.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey quality processes understandably.
• Initiative, responsibility, and enjoyment of interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
