Cybersecurity Engineer - Remote

Overview

Bonterra is seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Engineer to support security operations and enhance the security posture across modern cloud-first environments.

In Short

• Report to the Director of Cybersecurity and support security operations.
• Assist with incident response and maintain IR playbooks.
• Support vulnerability management and report on trends.
• Assist with internal and third-party network penetration testing.
• Implement and improve security controls across various environments.
• Support security compliance and audit activities.
• Develop incident response and business continuity plans.
• Monitor systems for signs of compromise.
• Research and evaluate new security tools.
• Communicate complex topics clearly to stakeholders.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in technical security roles.
• Hands-on experience with security tools like SIEM and XDR.
• Experience with vulnerability management platforms.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks like NIST CSF.
• Ability to balance risk mitigation with operational impact.
• Experience in cloud security design for AWS or Azure.
• Understanding of endpoint protection in cloud environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
