Access Network Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Access Network Engineer is responsible for the architecture, deployment, and operational support of the organization’s fiber access network, focusing on GPON and XGS-PON broadband platforms.

In Short

• Design, deploy, and support GPON and XGS-PON access network architectures.
• Engineer and maintain OLT platforms and subscriber provisioning templates.
• Support ONT provisioning and firmware lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot service impairments across network layers.
• Perform root cause analysis for subscriber impacting issues.
• Develop operational standards for access network configuration.
• Integrate PON infrastructure with subscriber management platforms.
• Support service activation workflows for broadband services.
• Develop automation to improve network observability.
• Collaborate with field engineering teams for ODN deployments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience supporting fiber broadband access networks.
• Hands-on experience with carrier-grade PON platforms.
• Strong understanding of PON technologies and networking fundamentals.
• Experience troubleshooting optical performance and access network faults.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
