Staff Software Engineer, Mission Management - Remote

Overview

BlackSky is seeking a strong, self-starting Staff Software Engineer to develop and maintain optimal, automated autonomous operations for the BlackSky constellation, focusing on mission management products.

In Short

• Design, implement, and maintain software for mission management services.
• Participate in design reviews and team planning discussions.
• Test, debug, and document software functionality.
• Identify and communicate problems with requirements.
• Interface with engineers to execute autonomous constellation operations.
• Assist with operational tasks for production environments.
• Support on-call rotations and troubleshooting of live systems.
• Support Launch and Early Operations of new satellites.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant software development experience.
• Fluency in Python and strong understanding of Go.
• Expert knowledge of software design and implementation.
• Demonstrated initiative in problem-solving.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities.
• Must be a US-born citizen due to program requirements.
