Principal Satellite Ground Segment Architect - Remote

Overview

BlackSky is looking for a talented system architect to help shape and drive the direction and realization of future space and ground system capabilities, playing an instrumental part in innovation and supporting BlackSky’s leadership in real-time geospatial intelligence.

In Short

• Architect and manage requirements for systems within BlackSky’s Ground Segment.
• Communicate with stakeholders and translate requirements into engineering specifications.
• Work closely with developers and engineers to align development plans.
• Support strategic opportunities and execution of programs.
• Organize and track projects, manage risks, and prioritize tasks.
• Collaborate with business managers to address customer issues.
• Develop models and analyze data for decision-making.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of architecture documentation.
• Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 12 years of related work experience, with 5 years in systems architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
• Experience architecting complex software systems.
• Familiarity with Software Engineering best practices.
• Knowledge of software enterprise design patterns.
• Experience designing Software APIs and system integrations.
• Effective communication skills across varied stakeholders.
• Must be eligible for US Security Clearance.
