Overview

The IT Help Desk Specialist provides front-line technical support to staff across the organization, ensuring efficient resolution of hardware, software, and network issues both on-site and remotely. This role also supports the IT Director with network security initiatives, contributing to the maintenance of a secure and compliant healthcare IT environment.

In Short

  • Serve as the first point of contact for technical support.
  • Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting for end-users.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining network security protocols.
  • Configure, install, and maintain workstations and applications.
  • Monitor and respond to help desk tickets promptly.
  • Educate users on IT best practices and security awareness.
  • Support software deployments and system updates.
  • Collaborate with departments to understand technical needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive data.
  • Travel out of state as needed for support.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of hands-on IT support experience.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare IT systems and HIPAA standards.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of basic networking concepts.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong documentation skills.
