Overview

The Lead Data Engineer at Banner Health is responsible for designing, building, and scaling the next-generation data platform on the cloud, leading the engineering of reliable, secure, and scalable data products and pipelines that support analytics and operational insights.

  • Support ingestion and transformation of complex data sources.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to modernize data processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
  • 3+ years in a senior or lead engineering role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and AWS.
  • Expertise in SQL and programming skills in Python or Java.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed data systems.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data platforms.
  • Strong communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
