Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

Axios is a growth-focused media company dedicated to helping people get smarter, faster on what matters. We’re looking for a Software Engineer to help scale the systems that power Axios’ core products.

In Short

• Develop high-quality, reliable services in a Golang and Python codebase.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable REST APIs.
• Build and optimize backend services for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Monitor system health and improve performance.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance development.
• Participate in code reviews and propose architectural improvements.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerization is a plus.
• Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 2–5+ years in backend or full-stack development.
• Hands-on experience in Golang and/or Python.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL).
• Experience with unit and integration testing.
• Awareness of performance and scalability patterns.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
• Knowledge of security best practices is a plus.
• Experience with observability tools is a plus.
