Software Engineer II - Java - Remote

Overview

AvidXchange is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its expanding development team, focusing on automating invoice and payment processes for mid-market businesses.

In Short

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AvidXchange’s suite of software products on our SaaS infrastructure.
• Participate in Scrum team activities including estimating user stories and attending daily stand-ups.
• Advocate for delivering high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly software.
• Collaborate with product management in product planning and development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years of experience with web/mobile applications, preferably in Java.
• Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, and REST-based web services.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum SDLC and CI/CD practices.
• Interest in financial products is a plus.
• Experience deploying software on IaaS/PaaS platforms (Azure, Docker preferred).

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of web application development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Experience with modern frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Proficiency in Java, with familiarity in Node.js, .NET, or Python.
• Knowledge of Linux and Bash scripting.
• Experience with unit and integration testing.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on customer success.
