AVER is seeking an experienced Security Compliance Specialist to support to a large IT services team in the Department of Homeland Security. In Short

• Manage ongoing Authority to Operate (ATO)
• Manage the continuous monitoring of NIST 800-53 security controls within a federal government environment
• Perform information security and risk management while maintaining compliance with evolving Federal regulations within a large Federal IT environment
• Maintain a proactive approach to ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required
• 5+ years of experience overseeing the process of obtaining and maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO) for IT systems
• 5+ years of experience including developing and updating security documentation
• 5+ years of experience in maintaining active coordination with system owners, developers, and other stakeholders
• 5+ years of experience with developing and implementing a continuous monitoring strategy
• 2+ years of experience in applying and assessing NIST 800-53 security controls within AWS environments
• 2+ years of Agile team experience
• Experience tailoring, implementing, and continuously monitoring NIST 800-53 security controls in large Federal government environments
