Automattic is seeking a talented attorney to lead our corporate, securities, M&A, and governance work, providing strategic advice to ensure smooth operations globally.

In Short

• Lead all areas related to global securities law matters and compliance.
• Manage global subsidiaries and board meetings, advising on entity structure and compliance.
• Assist with board agendas and record corporate actions.
• Oversee stock plan and negotiate stock sale transactions.
• Lead deal execution for fundraising and M&A transactions.
• Manage investment portfolio and lead venture investment deals.
• Design legal processes for international scaling.

Requirements

• JD from a US-accredited law school and 5+ years of legal experience.
• Knowledge of securities law compliance and corporate governance.
• Experience managing international subsidiaries and complex transactions.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and practical legal approach.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Interest in the open web and related issues.
