Assured is on a mission to modernize insurance. Claims processing (i.e. should we pay this claim?), while often overlooked, is the foundation of the entire industry. It’s currently highly manual, involving phone calls, faxes, and gut instinct—costing tens of billions of dollars a year. We can do better.

In Short

• Provision infrastructure and tooling required to deliver the Assured platform
• Create automated tooling to configure and maintain our platform and services
• Build sustainable methods for monitoring, managing, and scaling our platforms and services
• Work with various teams to improve observability in different product areas
• Identify, recommend, and implement strategies for complying with security regulations
• Handle incident support and on call rotation
• Lead, mentor, and learn from other engineers on our growing team

Requirements

• Experience in building and scaling high-quality products and environments
• Ability to discern when automation isn’t the best solution
• Initiative to identify and solve important problems
• Experience with code reviews, documentation, and mentoring
• Persistence in overcoming roadblocks
• Self-motivated with minimal direction required
• Passion for implementing and supporting observability platforms
• Experience with Terraform, AWS, and Kubernetes
• Strong engineering background and history of designing systems
