Technical Writer - Remote

Overview

The Technical Writer will create user-friendly guides and documentation for Vectorworks products, supporting professionals in design industries.

In Short

• Write clear, concise, and technically accurate end-user documentation.
• Develop and implement departmental procedures and best practices.
• Research and plan documentation updates from design specs and software testing.
• Prepare and release help files for international audiences.
• Manage multiple writing assignments under tight deadlines.
• Work closely with engineers and product teams for consistency across software.
• Curiosity and agility in learning new processes and technologies.
• Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to explore AI in technical writing.
• Experience with SnagIt or similar software is a plus.

Requirements

• Experience in technical writing or similar role.
• Knowledge of Adobe RoboHelp or similar documentation tools.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Understanding of software development processes.
• Familiarity with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript is beneficial.
• Experience with localization or translation is a plus.
• Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• Interest in technology and design software.
