Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Data Engineer will assist with an ongoing effort to converge legacy systems onto an existing system’s Azure PaaS cloud environment. In doing so, you will help architect a common data model, establish data pipelines, implement ETL solutions, and create SQL views, stored procedures, and functions as needed. You will work with a team that follows the Scrum Agile framework.

• Perform data engineering work including implementing ETL solutions, creating data architecture documentation, and establishing data pipelines.
• Adhere to Scrum Agile principles.
• Take direction and guidance from the Senior Data Engineer.
• Document architecture and SOPs.
• Document processes, data flows, and technical decisions for internal and client use.
• Assist in designing and implementing ETL pipelines using Azure cloud tools including Data Factory and Logic Apps.
• Support data ingestion from structured and unstructured sources.

Requirements

• US Citizen
• Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance
• A BS or MS degree in an IT related field (Data Science, Data Analytics, or Computer Science).
• 3 years of experience with data modeling.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge and experience scripting in a programming language, such as Python and C#, for data transformations.
• Experience collaborating with senior engineers to implement data models and optimize performance.
• Experience monitoring and troubleshooting data workflows, ensuring reliability and data quality.
• Experience in developing data pipeline solutions.
