Overview

The Military & Military Spouse Career Navigator will support our organization’s mission by providing direct, individualized employment support to transitioning service members, military spouses, and dependents. This role addresses the unique career challenges faced by active-duty families, including frequent relocations, deployment cycles, and maintaining career continuity across duty stations.

In Short

Conduct intake assessments to identify barriers, strengths, and career interests.
Translate military experience into civilian workforce skills.
Develop Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) aligned with participant goals.
Partner with employers and organizations to identify job opportunities.
Host and participate in job fairs and career workshops.
Maintain contact with participants and employers for job retention.
Document interactions and progress in tracking systems.
Stay current on veterans’ benefits and supportive resources.
Collaborate with various military transition programs.
Assist with professional licensing and certification transfers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field.
Experience working with military spouses or veterans.
Experience with case management or job placement preferred.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Familiarity with military culture and ranks.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
Understanding of PCS cycles and their impact on careers.
Knowledge of Military Spouse Preference Hiring Authorities.
