Overview

The People and Operations Director plays a critical leadership role in shaping the organization’s people operations strategy, culture, and operational infrastructure.

  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and employment laws.
  • Administer the organization's 403(b) plan and oversee payroll processing.
  • Foster a cohesive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Support DEIB initiatives and organizational equity goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in HR or operations in a nonprofit environment.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in unionized environments is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead through collaboration.
