Wind Hub Technician - Remote

Overview

The Wind Technician position requires local travel within the hub and is responsible for maintaining optimal function and output at the wind site through turbine operations, safety, quality control, and warranty repairs.

In Short

• Work with site & hub leadership to execute contractual obligations.
• Perform maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts on wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems.
• Document all work using computer-based service reporting procedures.
• Respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary.
• Handle repetitive weight and climb towers up to 300 feet daily.
• Work in a range of environments, including industrial and manufacturing facilities.
• Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules and on-call per site needs.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a Technical Knowledge Assessment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Wind Technician or completed Wind Certificate Program.
• Electrical work experience can substitute for Wind Technician experience.
• Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with hydraulic power tools and heavy equipment.
• Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field preferred.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Wind turbine experience is a plus.
• Must meet specified manufacturer weight limits.
• Ability to prioritize work according to contract obligations.
