Wind Hub Technician - Remote

Overview

The Wind Technician position requires local travel within the hub. The Wind Technician is a critical and active role to maintain optimal function and output at the wind site by working daily on turbine operations, safety, quality control and warranty repair(s).

In Short

• Work with site & hub leadership to execute contractual obligations.
• Perform maintenance, repair or replacement of parts on wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems.
• Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting.
• Work with GE’s remote operations center when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Handle repetitive weight and climb towers daily.
• Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules.
• Occasional overnights may be required.
• Engage in various site operations as directed by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic.
• Eligibility for passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in various environments including industrial facilities.
• Ability to prioritize work according to contract obligations.
• Ability to take initiative and work without supervision.
• Willingness to work rotating shift schedules.
• Flexibility for on-call duties as per site needs.
