Wind Hub Technician - Remote

Overview

The Wind Technician position is essential for maintaining optimal function and output at the wind site by working daily on turbine operations, safety, quality control, and warranty repairs.

In Short

• Execute contractual obligations per customer requirements.
• Perform maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts on wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems.
• Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting.
• Communicate with GE's remote operations center as needed.
• Work with site & hub leadership on daily operations.
• Handle repetitive weight and climb towers up to 300 feet.
• Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules and on-call per site needs.
• Occasional overnight stays may be required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet specified weight limits.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician or related field.
• Eligibility to pass a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work in various environments including industrial and manufacturing facilities.
• Ability to prioritize work according to contract obligations.
• Willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
• Experience with hydraulic power tools and heavy equipment.
• Technical Certification in Wind Energy or related field is desirable.
• Ability to work with a variety of personnel at different levels.
