Overview

The Accounts Payable Specialist performs tasks related to overall accounts payable operations, including reviewing and processing invoices, preparing checks, and maintaining relationships with vendors.

In Short

  • Handling accounts payable for separate locations and vendors
  • Receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling a high volume of invoices
  • Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges to vendor files
  • Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment
  • Participate in month end closing activities
  • Maintain current vendor records
  • Assist with annual 1099s
  • Assists with audits as needed
  • Participate in physical inventory
  • Uphold company accounting policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to read and write routine reports and general business correspondence.
