Senior Indigenous Engagement Specialist - Remote

Overview

AECOM is seeking a passionate Senior Indigenous Engagement Specialist to support meaningful relationships and impactful outcomes in the work we do with Indigenous communities and clients.

In Short

• Develop and implement Indigenous engagement strategies.
• Support Indigenous engagement activities related to environmental assessments and permitting.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate Indigenous Knowledge into planning.
• Organize and facilitate engagement sessions, both virtual and in-person.
• Prepare communication materials for Indigenous engagement.
• Manage concerns raised by Indigenous communities.
• Build relationships with Indigenous governments and organizations.
• Track engagement activities and prepare reports.
• Mentor junior staff in Indigenous engagement best practices.

Requirements

• A degree or professional designation in a related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in Indigenous engagement or communications.
• Knowledge of Indigenous governance structures and legal frameworks.
• Experience in facilitation and building relationships with Indigenous communities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
• A valid driver’s license and access to transportation.
