Staff Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Staff Accountant is a key member of our Finance team, responsible for day-to-day accounting operations that ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. This role will support 9th Way by managing AP/AR, performing reconciliations, preparing journal entries, coordinating payroll, and collaborating with project finance and operations teams.

In Short

• Process vendor invoices and customer invoices.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and record journal entries for month-end close.
• Coordinate payroll with HR and ensure accurate payroll runs.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports.
• Support Unanet time-and-expense administration.
• Document and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with Project Finance Analysts and project managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in GovCon.
• Proficiency with general ledger systems and ERP tools.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and payroll processes.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
