DHS Background Investigator - Remote

Overview

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Full Time Background Investigator, you will support a large national background investigations (BI) program that provides investigative products and services to departments and agencies of the federal government. Focused on our Nation’s security, BIs are required to determine an individual’s suitability for employment with the federal government, eligibility for access to classified information, assignment to or retention in positions with sensitive duties, or other designated duties requiring such investigations. The investigations often involve personal and intimate details of an individual’s life and must be processed and conducted with tact and discretion. Information collected by the investigator as part of the BI is protected under the Privacy Act of 1974. In Short

• Review completed background interview documentation for accuracy.
• Conduct background investigations by interviewing various individuals.
• Prepare detailed interview statements for each interviewee.
• Organize investigative material for results of investigation package.
• Summarize adverse information based on candidate’s background.
• Ability to conduct interviews remotely and/or in-person.
• Travel up to 50% of the time may be required.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.

Requirements

• Active Top-Secret clearance.
• Open to completing an approved NTS Background Investigator course.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Ability to conduct interviews virtually at home.
• 3 years of general experience in investigative functions.
• 1 year of specialized Federal background investigative experience for Level II.
• 3 years of specialized Federal background investigative experience for Level III.
• 5 years of specialized Federal background investigative experience for Level IV.
