Overview

The NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is seeking an experienced investigator to work on legal investigations in the General Counsel Division, focusing on consumer protection laws and regulations.

In Short

• Conduct background research for legal investigations.
• Perform undercover investigations under attorney guidance.
• Interview consumers, businesses, and witnesses.
• Document and analyze evidence.
• Write comprehensive investigation reports.
• Ensure proper documentation for hearings and court appearances.
• Testify at administrative hearings and in court.
• Collaborate with other investigators and legal staff.
• Draft and update investigative policies and protocols.
• Engage in additional projects as directed.

Requirements

• 4 years of investigative experience or equivalent education.
• Strong aptitude for interpreting complex topics.
• Excellent attention to detail and judgment.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Possession of a valid Motor Vehicle Driver License in New York.
