Overview

The Consultant will lead and manage an annual monitoring survey for the FASA project, aimed at assessing fish feed practices and performance among fish farmers and feed millers in Kenya.

In Short

Lead the implementation of a baseline survey for the FASA project.
Administer surveys to approximately 800 households across multiple counties.
Recruit and train enumerators for effective data collection.
Ensure adherence to ethical standards and obtain necessary approvals.
Maintain communication with the WorldFish Impact Assessment team.
Prepare a comprehensive report summarizing collected data.
Incorporate feedback from project partners into survey instruments.
Implement measures to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Document the process with high-quality photos.
Support project strategies with insights from survey findings.

Requirements

Proven experience in survey administration and data collection.
Strong project management skills.
Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation processes.
Ability to train and manage a team of enumerators.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working in the agricultural or aquaculture sectors is a plus.
Familiarity with ethical research practices.
Ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
Willingness to travel within Kenya for data collection.
