Overview

The Senior Medical Lab Scientist at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is responsible for overseeing laboratory testing processes, ensuring quality control, and training laboratory staff while supporting patient care and research.

In Short

• Full-time position from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
• Responsible for selecting appropriate test methodologies.
• Ensures compliance with CMS-approved proficiency testing programs.
• Establishes and maintains quality control programs.
• Trains and evaluates laboratory personnel.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
• Documents and resolves technical problems.
• Participates in regulatory readiness activities.
• Supports clinical managers and supervisors in training initiatives.
• Acts as a technical supervisor when qualified.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• ASCP certification or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 4 years clinical laboratory experience.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and regulations.
• Ability to train and evaluate staff competency.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
