Overview

The Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for the care of emergency department patients under the direction of attending physicians, performing comprehensive evaluations and implementing treatment plans in a supportive and educational environment.

In Short

  • Provide direct care and treatment to emergency department patients.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and obtain patient histories.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient assessments.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation of patient care.
  • Perform bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development.
  • Work in various areas of the emergency department.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant required.
  • 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant required.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
  • Ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Skilled in taking medical histories and interpreting findings.
  • Knowledge of organizational and regulatory policies.
  • Must demonstrate continued competence through recertification.
