Overview

The Phlebotomist is responsible for receiving patients, gathering registration information, ordering tests, generating specimen labels, and escorting patients to phlebotomy services. This role involves performing phlebotomy on various patient populations and handling semi-technical and clerical tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a phlebotomy training program preferred.
• Six months of direct phlebotomy experience or completion of an 80-hour clinical rotation.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, and telephone skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Competent in phlebotomy skills/competency checklist.
• Clerical experience including medical terminology required.
• Reliable transportation for assignments outside the hospital.
