Overview

The Operating Room Assistant is responsible for ensuring excellent patient care, maintaining safety standards, and providing medical assistance in the operating room.

In Short

• Promotes patient/family focused care through cordial interactions.
• Provides hospital/unit orientation information for guests and families.
• Demonstrates awareness of hospital systems and procedures.
• Independently transports and assists in the transfer of patients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 0-1 year of Medical Office/Hospital/Managed Care Experience required.
• 0-1 year of Operating Room Experience preferred.
• Knowledge of proper body mechanics for patient transfer.
• Must be alert and attentive to progress of O.R. schedule.
