The Medical Assistant II role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers, ensuring patient comfort and efficient care.

• Assist junior Medical Assistants and facilitate their learning.
• Take vital signs and document patient information.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
• Explain treatment procedures and medications to patients.
• Perform general office duties and act as a liaison with other departments.
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Maintain inventory of immunizations and provide immunizations as applicable.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant Certificate preferred.
• 1-2 years of direct Medical Assistant experience or in the medical field preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in busy environments.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
• Ability to take vital signs and collect blood samples.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
