Legal Counsel - Remote

Overview

Osler is seeking a highly developed and results-oriented Legal Counsel to join its Legal Affairs team, providing a full spectrum of legal services across the hospital.

In Short

• Provide legal services across administrative and clinical departments.
• Focus on corporate/commercial work and health law.
• Draft, negotiate, and review contracts and related documents.
• Advise on legal matters including contract law and health law.
• Identify and manage legal risks.
• Develop policies and procedures.
• Participate in working groups across the hospital.
• Lead legislative compliance program.
• Monitor legislative developments impacting healthcare.
• Provide training on legal and regulatory matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent required.
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Minimum three years of experience as in-house counsel or in a law firm.
• Knowledge of Privacy laws in Ontario.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to draft and negotiate agreements independently.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative planning skills in a fast-paced environment.
