The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is seeking a Director, Field Conservation & Science who will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of field conservation aspects and major initiatives by leading the Conservation & Science branch.

In Short

• Lead the planning and expansion of conservation programs.
• Manage a team of conservation professionals.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Conservation Science or related discipline required.
• At least 10 years of experience in the applied conservation sector.
• Experience in staff management and engagement.
• Demonstrated experience driving conservation impact.
• Strong relationship-building skills with various stakeholders.
• Community engagement experience.
• Experience in strategic program development and evaluation.
• Budget management experience for $5-10 million budgets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Spanish or French is an asset.
