Vice President – Controller - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a talented Controller to join our team. As a Controller at Canopy USA, you will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic insight through managing the financial health and stability of the organization.

In Short

• Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal financial policies.
• Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Supervise day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger and payroll.
• Coordinate and manage annual audits with external auditors.
• Work closely with the VP of Finance to ensure integrity of financial data.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support company strategy.
• Support integration of acquisitions and system upgrades as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and audit requirements.
• Experience in multi-entity, multi-state operations preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems).

• Annual compensation commensurate with experience from $190,000 - $220,000.
