Senior Engineering Manager, Creator - Remote

Overview

The Senior Engineering Manager for the Creators Team is a critical leadership role at VRChat, accountable for the technical direction for the Creator team managing all external facing SDKs and community interactions.

In Short

• Lead the technical direction for the Creator team.
• Manage a team of approximately 10 engineers.
• Collaborate with product, design, and production leads.
• Foster a positive and high-functioning team environment.
• Create and align short and long-term strategies.
• Make critical trade-offs for platform health.
• Stay updated on industry trends in gaming and UGC.
• Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and the community.
• Support the VP Engineering in strategy and execution.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical experience with Unity or 3D gaming development.
• Expertise in gaming, UGC, or social platforms is a plus.
• University degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience with defining metrics for product decisions.
• Intellectually curious about new technologies.
• Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
